To carry out our mission, NeuroScience Canada depends on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations, whose support leverages our public-sector partnerships. We raise funds for our research programs, other activities to support research and our operational needs.
The $11.5-million National Brain Repair Fund Campaign, which was launched in 2001, recently reached its goal. Of the total raised, $8 million is directed to the Brain Repair Program, $2 million to a portfolio of partnered research programs, with the balance allocated to NeuroScience Canada’s other activities and operations. We would like to thank our network of donors, volunteers and partners for making the National Brain Repair Fund Campaign a success.
NeuroScience Canada remains fully committed to funding excellent Canadian research and to building awareness on the incidence and impact of brain and nerve disorders. We welcome your support.

Recent changes in Canadian tax law now mean that publicly-listed securities, such as stocks and mutual funds, can now be donated without paying any tax on the capital gain. A gift of appreciated securities can mean greater tax savings for the donor than an equivalent gift of cash. Donors are eligible for a tax receipt for the fair market value of the securities at market close on the date of transfer. The process is simple; your financial advisor simply transfers the securities from your account to a NeuroScience Canada brokerage.
Planned gifts can benefit the donor, the donor’s family and NeuroScience Canada. From a simple bequest in your will to a variety of arrangements that can provide income for your lifetime, support your loved ones, and reduce tax burdens, NeuroScience Canada is fully equipped to accept your planned gift.
